About Mr Atef Ahmed El-Kholy

Personal Profile

Mr El-Kholy was born in Egypt and trained in the UK. He completed his surgical training at West Midlands, Glasgow and North West teaching hospitals.

He has been a Consultant since 1989; prior to his present appointment, he was a Consultant and Head of Department for 10 years at a prominent teaching hospital in Saudi Arabia, responsible for the care of, amongst others, the Saudi Royal Family and visiting diplomats. He is also an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Edge Hill University.

Mr El-Kholy is interested in teaching and participated in teaching in national and international courses. He has his own surgical techniques which have been published in international journals.

He has regular audits of his surgical results and has been consistently comparable with the best international results. Mr El-Kholy is married with 3 children and enjoys travelling, scuba diving, badminton and bridge.
