Personal Profile

Mr Arshad Khaleel is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in lower limb conditions including joint replacement surgery, arthroscopy sports and trauma related surgery.

He obtained an MSc in Trauma and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation and Technology from the University of Dundee. He was appointed Consultant at Ashford and St Peter's Hospital in 2002.

Current Practice

Mr Khaleel's orthopaedic training and practice involves managing disorders of the lower limb including arthroscopic (keyhole surgery) and joint replacement surgery of the hip, knee and ankle joints. He treats sports-related injuries such as ankle stabilisation surgery and stress fracture management.  He uses the current evidence-based techniques and implants.

Mr Khaleel carries out surgery to fix bone and joint fractures including when they have failed to unite (non-union) or healed with deformity that needs correction (mal union). He completed a Fellowship in Trauma and Limb Reconstruction Surgery and undertook specialised training at the Ilizarov Scientific Centre, Kurgan, Siberia. This allows him to offer trauma and limb reconstruction surgery to patients locally, from regional hospitals and on occasions from abroad.

Mr Khaleel has an interest in disorders of the foot and ankle. He routinely carries out complex procedures and revision surgeries including forefoot, midfoot and hind foot bone and tendon disorders. He manages acute charcot of the foot - a complex and disabling condition.

Mr Khaleel also manages some hand conditions including Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, trigger finger and Dupuytren's contractures.
