Personal Profile
He has been practising general (internal) medicine for over 25 years. He has vast specialist experience in the management of most endocrine disorders with a special interest in thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal disorders. His main subspecialty interests are in the management of lipid disorders and patients with high cardiovascular risk including those with complex diabetes. He has published widely in endocrinology and diabetes. He is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate training and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham.
He has previously served as Clinical Director for Diabetes and Endocrinology and is currently Deputy Medical Director responsible for developing PHM-based model of care working closely with Primary Care Networks. He has a long history in training and upskilling general practitioners in diabetes and cardiovascular risk management.
