Dr. Anji Anand is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at City Hospital, Nottingham. She obtained her primary qualification in 1998 from Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences, Bellary, India. She came to the United Kingdom in 1998 for further education and received her Membership from the Royal College of Physicians in July 2000. She joined the Oncology department at the City campus, University hospitals Nottingham in August 2001 as a specialist registrar. During her Specialist registrar training, she obtained an MSc in Oncology from Nottingham University in 2004. Her dissertation topic was on local recurrence in low risk breast cancer.

In May 2007 I obtained my FRCR, and I was appointed in a substantive consultant post in March 2010. She has been instrumental in developing HDR brachytherapy and Intensity modulated radiotherapy for gynaecological cancers at City hospital, Nottingham. She also has a keen interest in clinical trials and is the principal investigator for several national and international clinical trials. She is a member of The Nottingham Oncology Group (TNOG).

  • Chemotherapy, endocrine therapy, antibody therapy and radiotherapy for Breast cancer
  • Chemotherapy and radiotherapy, intensity modulated radiotherapy for ovarian cancers, endometrial (womb) cancers, cervix, vulvar and vaginal cancers
  • Intracavitary brachytherapy for cervix and endometrial cancers
  • Clinical trials in breast and gynaecological cancers
