About Mr Anindya Lahiri

Personal Profile

Mr Anindya Lahiri, MBBS, MS, FRCS(Eng), PGDiplClinEdu, CUBS, DiplHandSurg, FRCS(Plast) is a consultant Plastic and Hand Surgeon in Sandwell and West Birmingham Teaching Hospitals.

After training in a number of leading Plastic Surgery units including Sheffield and Manchester, he completed his specialist training in the West Midlands. To pursue his clinical interests he completed senior fellowships in breast, hand and microsurgery in Chelmsford, Essex. He also completed the Nagor aesthetic fellowship and was awarded the prestigious Pulvertaft travelling fellowship for higher surgical training in hand surgery.

Mr Lahiri has published over forty articles in international peer review plastic surgery and hand surgery journals, with over sixty presentations at international and national meetings. He is a regular reviewer for multiple peer review journals including Journal of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Journal of Hand Surgery and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

He is an examiner for Diploma in Hand Surgery (Manchester University and BSSH) and for MB ChB, Birmingham University. He is a senior academy tutor for undergraduate medical students and an honorary senior clinical lecturer for Birmingham Medical School. 

He is an specialist advisor to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman for England and Wales for complex hand surgery and plastic surgery cases, and works as a medicolegal expert in plastic and hand surgery.
