Mr Angus Thomson is a Consultant Gynaecologist providing private women’s health care at Droitwich Spa Hospital. He has been a Consultant in Worcestershire since 2005 and also serves as Divisional Director for Women and Children’s Services within the local NHS Trust.

Mr Thomson specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of benign gynaecological conditions, with particular expertise in endometriosis, pelvic pain, menstrual disorders, prolapse, and urinary incontinence. He has played a key role in establishing the Worcestershire BSGE Endometriosis Centre and supporting the continuation of the BSUG-accredited Urogynaecology Centre, both of which provide specialist care for complex women’s health conditions.

After completing his medical training in the UK, Mr Thomson undertook a two-year fellowship in Sydney, Australia, before returning to take up his consultant role. He is highly experienced in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, including laparoscopic (keyhole), hysteroscopic, and vaginal surgery, helping patients benefit from smaller incisions, shorter hospital stays, faster recovery, and a quicker return to everyday life.

His specialist interests include laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis, ovarian cysts, hysterectomy procedures, pelvic pain management, prolapse surgery, and female continence treatment.

Mr Thomson is actively involved in advancing women’s healthcare nationally. He serves on the National Council of the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE) and helps coordinate educational and scientific meetings for the British Society of Urogynaecology (BSUG). He has also published widely and presented professionally throughout his career.
