Mr Angus Thomson is a Consultant Gynaecologist providing private women’s health care at Droitwich Spa Hospital. He has worked as a Consultant in Worcestershire since 2005 and is also Divisional Director for Women and Children’s Services within the local NHS Trust.

Mr Thomson specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of benign (non-cancerous) gynaecological conditions. His main clinical interests include:
  • Endometriosis
  • Pelvic pain
  • Menstrual disorders
  • Pelvic organ prolapse
  • Urinary incontinence

He has played a key role in developing specialist services in the region, including helping to establish the Worcestershire BSGE Endometriosis Centre. He has also supported the continuation of the BSUG-accredited Urogynaecology Centre, which provides advanced care for complex women’s health conditions.

After completing his medical training in the UK, Mr Thomson undertook a two-year fellowship in Sydney, Australia. He then returned to the UK to take up his Consultant post in Worcestershire.

He has extensive experience in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, including:

  • Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery
  • Hysteroscopic procedures
  • Vaginal surgery

These techniques are designed to reduce recovery time, minimise discomfort, and help patients return to normal activities more quickly.

Mr Thomson is actively involved in advancing women’s healthcare at a national level. He is a member of the National Council of the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE) and contributes to the organisation of educational and scientific meetings for the British Society of Urogynaecology (BSUG).

He has also published widely in his field and regularly presents his work at professional conferences.
