Andy qualified as a physiotherapist in 2016 from Coventry University after working as a physiotherapy assistant at Heartlands hospital since 2010 and began his physiotherapy career at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire where he gained experience in respiratory, medical, musculoskeletal and orthopaedics before becoming a static orthopaedic junior physiotherapist in 2017.
Andy joined Circle in 2018 as a musculoskeletal and orthopaedic physiotherapist in 2018 at The Meriden Hospital where he worked closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver pre-operative physiotherapy to patients before undergoing orthopaedic surgery alongside treating patients during their inpatient stay and in an outpatient setting helping patients achieve their pre-operative functional goals.
Andy also has experience in occupational physiotherapy working with businesses and employees to reduce workplace sickness due to musculoskeletal injuries and providing an onsite physiotherapy service for employees.
Andy returned to Circle in 2020 as a senior physiotherapist and developed physiotherapy referral pathways with renowned consultants in the Warwickshire area alongside undertaking a Masters’ degree in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, which he completed in November 2023. Andy has gained a key interest in shoulder rehabilitation after working closely with shoulder consultants across Warwickshire and the West Midlands, and also enjoys treating ankle, knee and hip conditions. Andy has recently completed an injection module at Teesside University and also uses shockwave therapy as alternative treatment methods.
Andy volunteers at the London Marathon every year where he provides treatment and management advice to runners at the finish line.
Andy believes educating a person on the nature of their injury alongside managing their expectations and beliefs are essential to a successful outcome with physiotherapy management and long term self-management.
