Mr Wyman was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon in 1996 and helped to establish the Upper Gastrointestinal surgical service in Sheffield. For many years, he was Chairman of the North Trent Upper Gastrointestinal Cancer Network.
He has been an examiner for the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons examination, and Training Programme Director for Higher Surgical Training in the South Yorkshire region. Mr Wyman is currently Associate Training Programme Director for the Yorkshire and the Humber Postgraduate Deanery. He has served on the Council of the Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland.
Mr Wyman has been member of the Surgical Advisory Committee for UK General Surgical Training, and is currently Chairman of the Intercollegiate Specialty Board in General Surgery at the Joint Committee on Intercollegiate Examinations which is responsible for running the FRCS examinations on behalf of the Surgical Royal Colleges.
