Personal Profile

I have been a consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham since April 2001. I trained in dentistry in Bristol BDS with Honours 1986, Medicine in Birmingham, MBChB with Honours and Distinction 1993, FDRCS (England) 1992, FRCS (England) 1995, FRCS (OMFS) with Gold Medal 2000.

I have specialised in the management of facial deformity and TMJ and I am currently the UK Lead for TMJ management and an expert adviser to NICE and NHS England. I am the Associate Editor for BJOMS (National journal) with particular emphasis on TMJ and am a founder member and past president on the European TMJ Association (ESTMJS).

I have published over 60 papers in peer reviewed journals, have written 12 book chapters in maxillofacial and ENT textbooks and am an international lecturer and trainer in TMJ management with Keynote lecture invitations to the British, European and International Oral and Maxillofacial Scientific Conferences in 2016 and 2017 and to the Turkish meeting in 2015.

I have worked at The Park Hospital since 2001 and manage patients with TMJ, facial pain and Oral Surgery problems.

I have practicing rights in Harley Street and visit monthly and I also work at Trent Bridge Oral Surgery in Nottingham delivering an Oral Surgery and Dental Implant service. My private clinics and operating are on a Monday.
