About Mr Andrew Austin Renwick

Personal Profile

Andrew graduated in 1991 from Aberdeen University. His surgical training was completed in the West of Scotland. Following the award of CCST in 2003 he moved to Sydney to Concord Repatriation General Hospital as a Colorectal Fellow. Under the guidance of the world renowned surgeons there he gained vast operative and clinical experience which has helped him to build a successful practice within the West of Scotland.

He was appointed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital Paisley in 2004.

His prime interests are General Surgery, Colorectal Cancer Surgery and Surgery for Inflammatory Bowel Disease. He also has expertise in Surgical training - particularly endoscopy and operative surgery.

He was responsible for the acquisition of Scotland’s only virtual reality trainers for endoscopic and laparoscopic training which are still in use to this day. He has been heavily involved in Core Surgical Training and has been the Training Programme Director for Core Surgery in the West, and is also Fellow of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers.

Andrew is also one of the screening colonoscopists for the West of Scotland and is equally comfortable offering laparoscopic techniques as well as open surgical procedures.
