To this effect Mr Demetriades has supplemented his training with post-specialisation fellowships in both neurosurgical and orthopaedic centres, both in the UK and abroad, thus obtaining a unique perspective on treatment options and techniques.
Mr Demetriades also deals with patients with carpal tunnel syndrome and ulnar nerve compression.
After graduating from Cambridge, he completed the Basic Surgical Training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London. He entered the Higher Surgical Training programme on the South London circuit and trained as a Senior Registrar at King’s College Hospital, St George’s Hospital, and Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals. Mr Demetriades completed fellowships in skull base surgery in Tokyo, Neurosurgical Spine in Munich, and Orthopaedic Spine in Oxford. He is currently a Consultant Neurosurgeon at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh.
