Professor Andrea Malaspina is a highly respected Consultant Neurologist and Professor of Neurology at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, a global centre of excellence for neurological care and research. With more than 25 years of clinical experience, he has developed deep expertise in general neurology, with a particular focus on neuromuscular disorders and neurodegenerative diseases such as motor neurone disease (MND/ALS). He works across both NHS and private settings, offering specialist diagnosis, second opinions, and long‑term management for individuals with complex neurological conditions.
As Director of the BRC UCL Queen Square MND Centre, Professor Malaspina leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to advancing care and improving outcomes for people living with motor neurone disease and related neuromuscular conditions. His leadership brings together clinical excellence, scientific innovation, and a strong commitment to collaborative research.
His academic work centres on biomarkers, neuroinflammation, and the mechanisms that drive neurodegeneration.
