About Mr Amit Sinha

Personal Profile

Mr Amit Sinha is a highly experienced Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon with more than three decades of surgical training and practice spanning India, the United Kingdom, and Singapore. He graduated from Patna University, India, in 1989 and qualified as a surgeon in 1993. Driven by a commitment to advancing his expertise, he moved to the UK in 1996, where he continued his specialist training and subsequently achieved GMC Specialist Registration in Surgery in 2006.

Throughout his career, Mr Sinha has developed extensive expertise in minimally invasive surgery, with particular emphasis on laparoscopic procedures. He is highly skilled in laparoscopic cholecystectomy (gallbladder surgery) and laparoscopic hernia repair, offering patients the benefits of modern surgical techniques, including reduced postoperative pain, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery times.

A significant part of Mr Sinha’s specialist training was dedicated to colorectal surgery. During his years as a surgical registrar, he gained substantial experience in the diagnosis and treatment of complex colorectal conditions. Following his specialist registration, he further enhanced his expertise through a prestigious Fellowship in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery at Singapore General Hospital, working under the guidance of Professor Eu Kong Weng in the Department of Colorectal Surgery. This advanced fellowship provided extensive hands-on experience in the laparoscopic management of both benign and malignant colorectal diseases, as well as a wide range of anal canal disorders.

Mr Sinha has a particular clinical interest in the treatment of haemorrhoids, anal fissures, and fistulas. He is committed to delivering personalised care, offering patients comprehensive assessment and evidence-based treatment plans tailored to their individual needs. His approach combines technical excellence with a strong focus on patient comfort, communication, and long-term outcomes.

In addition to his surgical practice, Mr Sinha is accredited by the Joint Advisory Group (JAG) on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, demonstrating his competence in independent specialist endoscopic practice. He is qualified to perform gastro-duodenoscopy (upper gastrointestinal endoscopy), flexible sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy, providing patients with expert diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic services.

Recognised for his breadth of experience, technical proficiency, and patient-centred approach, Mr Sinha provides comprehensive care across a wide range of general surgical, colorectal, and endoscopic conditions, helping patients achieve the highest standards of treatment and recovery.
