About Mr Amit Shukla

Personal Profile

Mr Amit Shukla qualified in 1993 in India and undertook training in general surgery. He began his surgical career in the UK at the renowned Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.

He undertook research in pancreatic and liver transplantation at the University of Edinburgh, followed by higher surgical training in the Trent region. He has trained in laparoscopic surgery at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield and carries out complex general and surgical operation in his NHS practice, including laparoscopic (keyhole) bowel surgery.

His interests lie in medical education and development of colorectal surgical techniques. Since joining as a Consultant at Lincoln County Hospital in 2011, he has continued to develop his surgical skills and add more procedures to the range of operations that he carries out. He is the lead clinician for the Colorectal MDT (Grantham and Lincoln) and the principle investigator for the Trust on the national EPOCH trial.
