Mr Alwitry is an experienced Ophthalmologist and Eye Surgeon. He undertakes more than 1600 cataract procedures per year and has undertaken specialist post-graduate training in cataract and refractive surgery specialising in complex cataract surgery and premium intraocular lens use.
He has been the recipient of numerous national awards, most recently the 2022 Midlands Ophthalmologist of the Year Award from GHP.
He has more than 109 five-star reviews on Doctify and has been selected for inclusion as a TopDoctor.
He is a Specialty Advisor to the CQC for Ophthalmology is the foremost medicolegal ophthalmology expert in the UK.
He has written two medical textbooks and edited a third. He has published more than 35 research articles in the world literature and has a Masters in Medical Law. He regularly undertakes work on patient safety and runs teaching sessions for fellow Ophthalmologists and Optometrists.
