Mr Omer has authored articles, book chapters and had congress presentations regarding early detection of prostate cancer, bladder cancer and robotic surgery. Since becoming a Consultant at UHCW he led the implementation of the local anaesthetic transperineal biopsy service (LATP) both locally and across the region, and the introduction of the robot assisted radical cystectomy at Coventry. He has built a research portfolio of clinical trials and is a Lead Clinician for Urological Cancers. He is a Clinical Champion for Prostate Cancer Uk and is leading the FDS (faster diagnosis standard) and is passionate about reducing the inequalities in prostate cancer detection.
Mr Omer is married to an Orthodontist and together they have two children. He enjoys listening to blues and rock music, playing the guitar and he is an active member of the local CrossFit community
