Personal Profile

Following graduation from The University of Kent in 1992 with a BSc Hons in Biochemistry, Mrs Alison Whitworth went on to study for a postgraduate diploma in Dietetics at Leeds Metropolitan University, performing her clinical training at The Hammersmith Hospital, London and qualifying as a State Registered Dietitian in 1995.

Mrs Whitworth has worked in a range of NHS and private hospitals, including most notably, Queen Mary’s in London and Manchester Royal Infirmary.

She has over 20 years of experience in the field of dietetics, spanning medicine, surgery, chronic disease management and palliative care and has specialised in gastrointestinal surgery for the last 10 years.

In 2011, she formed the successful company, 'LA Dietitians' with her business partner, Ms Louise Coyle. They provide specialist clinical dietetic services to the private sector and work alongside consultants to provide high-quality, multi-disciplinary care.
