About Alireza Shoakazemi

Personal Profile

Mr Shoakazemi is a highly accomplished UK trained consultant neurosurgeon, recognised for his advanced expertise in cranial neurosurgery and his commitment to delivering exceptional, patient centred care. His training spans internationally across leading neurosurgical centres, including a prestigious North American fellowship and an elite skull base fellowship in Manchester, where he refined his skills in complex cranial and skull base procedures. This combination of global training and specialist focus has positioned him as a respected surgeon within the field of modern neurosurgery.
Subspecialising exclusively in cranial neurosurgery, Mr Shoakazemi has developed deep clinical expertise in the management of brain tumours, skull base surgery, endoscopic pituitary surgery, and the treatment of vestibular schwannoma and trigeminal neuralgia. His practice includes the full spectrum of cranial pathology, from minimally invasive endoscopic procedures to complex skull base operations requiring multidisciplinary collaboration.

In addition to his cranial subspecialty work, he provides expert care for patients with degenerative spine disease, including back pain, disc disease, and related spinal conditions. His broad clinical capability ensures that patients receive comprehensive assessment and evidence based treatment tailored to their individual needs.

Mr Shoakazemi currently serves as a substantive consultant neurosurgeon at Queen’s Hospital, where he plays an active role in both the Skull Base Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and the Neuro Oncology MDT. His involvement in these specialist teams ensures that patients benefit from collaborative decision making and the latest advances in neurosurgical care.
