Dr Solomon is an experienced Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology with a specialist interest in diabetes in pregnancy and complex endocrine disorders. She provides expert care for patients with a wide range of hormonal and metabolic conditions, combining clinical practice with advanced research and teaching.

Her clinical expertise includes pre-conception counselling, antenatal endocrinology, and the management of conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disease, parathyroid disorders, adrenal and pituitary conditions, and other endocrine disorders.

She also has specialist expertise in insulin pump therapy and the use of modern technologies in diabetes management, helping patients achieve better glucose control and improved long-term outcomes.

Dr Solomon provides comprehensive care for patients with endocrine conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Her specialist areas include:

Dr Solomon has made significant contributions to diabetes research, particularly in the field of diabetes in pregnancy. She led the internationally recognised CONCEPTT study, which investigated the use of continuous glucose monitoring in pregnant women with diabetes.

The initial results of this study were published in The Lancet, and her work continues to influence modern approaches to diabetes care during pregnancy worldwide.

Her career reflects a strong commitment to improving patient outcomes through research, innovation, and evidence-based medicine.

Dr Solomon graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from the National University of Russia in 1994. She completed her residency in General Medicine, followed by a fellowship in Diabetes and Endocrinology in Israel.

She became a Consultant at Sheba Medical Centre in 2002, where she gained extensive experience in managing complex endocrine conditions.

In 2007, she moved to the United Kingdom to pursue a PhD at the University of Manchester, focusing on maternal diabetes and fetal growth. She was awarded her PhD in 2011.

She later worked as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sheffield and joined the UK Specialist Register in Diabetes, Endocrinology, and General Medicine in 2014. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Dr Solomon returned to clinical practice at Russells Hall Hospital in 2015 as a Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology. She later became a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham in 2017.

She has been recognised with a Clinical Excellence Award and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.

Dr Solomon is dedicated to combining clinical expertise, research, and teaching to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. Her work continues to improve the understanding and treatment of diabetes and endocrine disorders, particularly in pregnancy and complex cases.
