Mr Raj is a full-time consultant ophthalmologist in the NHS and leads the glaucoma team at the Russells Hall Hospital, Dudley. Mr Raj has 25 years of valuable and wide-ranging experience in ophthalmology.

Mr Raj has extensive training and has experience in managing Glaucoma and glaucoma-related conditions, corneal diseases of the eye and he is an expert Cataract surgeon.

He has completed a year of Senior Glaucoma Fellowship from the prestigious Birmingham & Midland Eye Centre, where he had the opportunity to achieve extensive and comprehensive expertise in Glaucoma and complex and challenging cataract surgeries.

He is dual-trained, cornea being his second sub-speciality interest. He achieved expertise in managing various corneal diseases, both medically and surgically after completing a clinical fellowship in cornea from Newcastle upon Tyne.

He has the pleasure and opportunity to successfully clear all the ophthalmology related examinations in the UK and in India. He graduated from India's premier medical school, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS: http://www.aiims.edu/), New Delhi and soon after successfully completed post-graduate residency in ophthalmology from the prestigious Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences (www.aiims.edu/rpcentre.htm, associated with All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi).

He successfully completed his higher speciality training as a specialist registrar in ophthalmology from South Wales deanery, based in Cardiff.

He is a fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London, UK and is also a full member of this respected institution.

He has been and is actively involved in various research projects, audits and has made numerous regional, national and international presentations. He also has numerous publications in various ophthalmology journals. He is a designated clinical and educational supervisor to training/junior doctors.

Working in two continents under different circumstances and dealing with diverse groups of patients have given Mr Raj a very unique perspective and insight. Working in various units have helped Mr Raj gather the best practices from all these units and combine them and provide them to all his patients fully individualised.
