Mr Abdelaal is an Orthopaedic Spine Surgery Consultant at Meriden Hospital.
After graduating from Alexandria University School of Medicine in Egypt, Mr Abdelaal moved to the UK to pursue postgraduate training, embarking on a career in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. He completed his higher registrar training in South Wales, which included a year specialising in spinal surgery.
Following his fellowship examinations in Trauma and Orthopaedics, Mr Abdelaal spent a further two and a half years developing his expertise in spinal surgery at some of the UK’s most renowned centres, including Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, University Hospitals of North Midlands, and Oxford University Hospitals. This extensive training provided him with comprehensive experience across all aspects of spinal surgery before taking up his consultant post as a Complex Spine Surgeon at UHCW.
Mr Abdelaal also has a strong interest in research and medical education. He holds a Master’s degree in Musculoskeletal Science from the University of Oxford, and his work has been published in medical journals and international textbooks. Passionate about training the next generation of surgeons, he holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education, has published articles on the future of surgical training, and serves as a supervisor for Trauma and Orthopaedic trainees in the West Midlands Deanery.
