Dr Datta is a Fertility Specialist with more than 18 years of experience in the field of Assisted Reproduction. He graduated from R.G. Kar Medical College, India and also did post-graduation (MD) in Obs & Gynae) in 1996. Dr Datta is a strong believer that pregnancy rate is not the only yardstick of a successful IVF programme. His aim is to help women having a healthy child through a process which would be safe, tolerable and affordable. An efficient fertility treatment is one which is made personalised with tailor-made interventions to fix specific individual issues.
He received MRCOG in the year 2005 and became an FRCOG in 2017. He completed his training in the UK with specialist training in Assisted Reproduction from St. Bartholomew’s’ hospital, London. He has accomplished the role of Lead Consultant in Fertility for over 10 years. Dr Datta’s research papers have been published in many hi-ranking scientific journals including the Lancet, Human Reproduction Update, Fertility & Sterility and Reproductive Medicine Online. His work on male infertility has been published in Human Reproduction, another renowned journal in this specialty. He wrote chapters in books and presented in many international and national conferences including those of ESHRE, RCOG, ASRM and BFS.
Dr Datta has special expertise in Ovarian Stimulation, particularly, in more challenging conditions including premature ovarian insufficiency, or women with advancing age. He is one of the World’s leading advocates of Gentle or Mild Approaches in IVF treatment to try to reduce the treatment burden and cost.
