About Dr Adam Jacques

Personal Profile

Dr Jacques graduated with Honours from University College London gaining a BSc in Anatomy with 1st Class Honours in 1994 and MBBS with Distinction in 1997. He subsequently trained on the Northwest Thames Cardiology Rotation at The Royal Brompton, Harefield, Royal Free and Hammersmith Hospitals. Dr Jacques was awarded a British heart Foundation Clinical PhD Research Fellowship to study the biochemistry and genetics of patients with familial cardiomyopthies at The National Heart and Lung Institute and Imperial College London.

During this time he published widely in peer reviewed journals including Circulation Research and was winner of the Young Investigator Award by the European Society of Cardiology in 2005 for his research into heart failure.

He was appointed Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals Surrey and St George’s Hospital, London in 2008 and has recently been made Clinical Lead for Cardiology at the Trust and Clinical Director for South East Coast Cardiovascular Strategic Clinical Network.

Dr Jacques has an interest in all aspects of cardiology including diagnostic coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty and stent insertion, cardiac pacing and device implantation. His specialist interests including inherited heart conditions, cardiomyopathies and coronary artery disease.
