About Mr Abdurahman El-Awa

Personal Profile

Mr Abdurahman El-Awa is a Consultant in Oral Surgery and Honoury Senior Clinical Lecturer in Oral Surgery at the School of Clinical Dentistry at The University of Sheffield. He has extensive experience in all aspects of Oral Surgery and has a special interest in Dental Implantology, including bone grafting and sinus surgery procedures as well as providing sedation for the nervous dental patients.

Mr El-Awa has an interest in developing dental surgical instruments for improving patients safety and clinical experience and he has developed oral surgical instruments and is renowned for his calm and patient chairside manner. Mr El-Awa qualified in 2003 in Cairo and moved to the UK in 2006 to embark upon specialist training in Oral Surgery. Since then, he has trained in Glasgow Dental School, Glasgow Southern General Hospitals, Sheffield Dental School, Sheffield University Hospitals and Royal Derby Hospitals. Mr El-Awa has completed post-graduate training and specialist clinical training in Oral Surgery in the UK.

Mr El-Awa is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons where he examines newly qualified oral surgery specialists. He has previously worked as a Consultant Oral Surgeon at Manchester Teaching Hospitals and is currently a Consultant at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, where he teaches both undergraduate and post-graduate dentists and dental students.
