Mr Zreik’s basic surgical training was based in Sheffield. He then completed a 2 year fellowship in The Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, which is one of the leading centres for prostate and bladder cancer in the UK. During that time, Mr Zreik was awarded a Masters Degree in Advanced Surgical Practice which focused on robotic treatment for prostate cancer. Mr Zreik started his higher surgical training at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. He then moved to Glasgow where he completed his urological and sub-specialty training.
Mr Zreik sits on the national multi dispensary team for testicular cancer and is an active member of the Scottish Germ Cell Cancer Network. He developed key performance indicators for advanced testicular cancer as well as “the Urology Hand Book” guidance for the West of Scotland.
Mr Zreik is very active in medical research and has published multiple studies as well as writing chapters in prominent urology text books. He has presented in both national and international conferences and meetings. He has also won prizes for his academic work.
He was appointed as a member of the Core Surgery Specialty Training Committee and represents Urology in the West of Scotland. He won the trainer of the year award for his contribution to training junior doctors. He regularly delivers lectures to medical students, junior doctors, nurses and general practitioners (GPs). He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and is on the General Medical Counsel Specialist Register for Urology.
