Mr Abdul Khan was appointed as a consultant ophthalmologist at Lincoln County Hospital in 2010. He gained specialist training in glaucoma at Oxford Eye Hospital, Oxford . He is a cataract and glaucoma specialist.  Mr Khan runs a busy NHS and private practice.  He carries out around 600-800 clinical episodes comprising of new and follow-up consultations, surgery and lasers per year in his private practice.

Cataract Surgery Experience

He has performed over 5000 cataract procedures and is experienced in complex cataract surgery. His surgical complication rates are well below the national average.  He offers lens implants according to patients' visual needs which may include premium multi- focal, mono-focal, enhanced or EDOF lenses.

Glaucoma Experience

He is a glaucoma specialist in North Lincolnshire area and leads the glaucoma services at Lincoln County Hospital. He has provided glaucoma training to optometrists.  Mr Khan offers glaucoma laser treatment which is now considered as first line of treatment (recommended by National Institute of Clinical Excellence) for glaucoma patients.

Mr Khan is heavily involved in the teaching and training of Ophthalmic trainees, Optometrists, Orthoptists and medical students.  He is also an Academic Lead for Ophthalmology, Lincoln Medical School, University of Nottingham.
