Dr Aamir is an experienced Gastroenterologist. He did his primary medical degree (MBBS) from Dow Medical College, University of Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his Post Graduate training in internal medicine and gastroenterology in UK and Australia. He gained further Gastroenterology experience as an Associate Specialist Grade at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire.

Dr Sajjad is on specialist register (for gastroenterology and general internal medicine) of GMC (General Medical Council, UK). He has a Certificate in medical education, tutoring undergraduate gastroenterology medical students and trains gastroenterology speciality registrars in clinics and GI endoscopy. Previous NHS Post is Consultant in Gastroenterology and Clinical Nutrition Lead at University Hospitals of Northamptonshire, Kettering.

Dr Sajjad has accreditation for performing diagnostic upper GI endoscopy and Colonoscopy by Joint Royal Colleges of Australia and recognised by Joint Advisory Group (JAG) UK. Accredited to perform colonoscopy for bowel cancer screening programme. Competent in performing therapeutic procedures including level 3 polypectomy and EMR (endoscopic mucosal resection) for colon polyps. His endoscopy performance is monitored by local NHS Trust, National Endoscopy Database and Bowel Cancer Screening programme, that shows his key performance indices above national average. Has excellent reports on safety profile and comfort score. Trains gastroenterology registrars for GI endoscopy.

Functional Bowel Disease (IBS, irritable bowel syndrome), abdominal pain, altered bowel habit and dyspepsia) and Gastro Oesophageal Reflux disease. With more than 20 years of experience and managing these conditions in outpatient clinics with incorporation of different treatment modalities to improve quality of life.

Dr Aamir Sajjad has extensive experience of managing inflammatory bowel disease (Ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease) having done dedicated inflammatory bowel disease clinics in Coventry and leading IBD MDT in local NHS Trust.

Clinical Nutrition, as Lead for clinical nutrition in local NHS Trust. Dr Sajjad manages patients with malnutrition and feeding difficulties. Has attended national and international course and conferences in clinical nutrition. Member on British and European Nutrition Societies.
