Dermabrasion is an advanced facial exfoliation process to remove and refresh the outer layers of your skin.
Dermabrasion is one of three non surgical cosmetic surgery options.
If you have facial scarring following acne or sun damage, then skin resurfacing can certainly help remove these imperfections. The chances are you’ll want to talk your thoughts through properly with an expert before you decide to commit to treatment, so please feel free to contact one of our consultant surgeons or a member of our team of friendly advisors. These advisors are here to help answer any questions you have, without applying any kind of sales pressure, so that you can be 100% confident with your decision if you do eventually proceed with surgery.
Your consultant surgeon will use a hand-held tool to pass a wash of fine, crystals over your skin to remove the outer layers. This advanced exfoliating process improves the tone and texture of the skin and reveals new, living skin cells that are soft and smooth. This procedure is usually performed under local anaesthetic, although a general anaesthetic is sometimes recommended.
You should be able to go home on the same day that you have your treatment, although this will depend on the extent of the procedure. Scars on the face will take a number of weeks to heal, and you will probably need to rest for up to a fortnight to give yourself the chance to recover properly. We would advise you to avoid any strenuous activity for 4-6 weeks, and it’s also important to try and get into the habit of wearing sun screen to protect your new, delicate skin.
There’s nothing worse than unexpected charges that you don’t find out about until after the event, and that’s why we make sure you know the full cost of your surgery before you make the decision to proceed. Our inclusive packages cover all the hospital charges for your stay, your consultant’s fees for the operation and one-follow-up consultation.
