A 3D or 4D scan is something that will be recommended by your Consultant, at which point our team will arrange an appointment for you.

If you think you may need a 3D or 4D scan and you aren’t speaking to one of our Consultants yet, book an initial consultation using our online booking portal. If you need one, they will arrange it for you.

A 3D scan results in still pictures of your baby, while 4D pictures are moving images of your baby.

A 3D/4D ultrasound scan focuses on your baby’s face and facial features. It is not a diagnostic scan and therefore does not include measurements of foetal growth or weight; however you will be able to see your baby’s features relatively clearly.

The success of the scan depends on the foetal position and gestation. A DVD/CD with still and moving images will be presented to you at the end of the scan.
