The Edgbaston Hospital has 55 beds, all rooms offer the privacy and comfort of en-suite facilities, satellite TV and telephone. The hospital has three theatres and a dedicated endoscopy suite. These facilities combined with the latest in technology and on-site support services, enable our consultants to undertake a wide range of procedures from routine investigations to surgery.

This specialist expertise is supported by caring and professional medical staff, with dedicated nursing teams and Resident Medical Officers on duty 24 hours a day, providing care within a friendly and comfortable environment.

The modern and spacious endoscopy suite serves patients with a wide range of endoscopic procedures, many of which will be carried out as a walk-in, walk-out service. The leading-edge suite is fitted with the very latest in endoscopic technology and this enables top quality high-definition images to be the captured.

How does Choose and Book work?

Once you and your GP have agreed that you need to see a consultant for further NHS treatment, you can inform them that you wish to be referred to The Edgbaston Hospital.

Preference for Female Gynaecologists?

If you would prefer to see a female consultant due to religious reasons, prior sexual abuse, or just because of the intimate nature of the examination – we can help.

We believe this is a reasonable request. We also understand that there are many reasons why you would have more of a need for a female consultant than others. As such we have a number of female consultant Gynaecologists that are available to NHS patients at The Edgbaston Hospital via Choose and Book.
