The Edgbaston Hospital is signposted from both the Hagley Road and the Bristol Road and there is ample free parking at the front, side and rear of the hospital.
Once you and your GP have agreed that you need to see a consultant for further NHS treatment, you can inform them that you wish to be referred to The Edgbaston Hospital.
If you would prefer to see a female consultant due to religious reasons, prior sexual abuse, or just because of the intimate nature of the examination – we can help.
We believe this is a reasonable request. We also understand that there are many reasons why you would have more of a need for a female consultant than others. As such we have a number of female consultant Gynaecologists that are available to NHS patients at The Edgbaston Hospital via Choose and Book.
Medication prescribed for NHS patients receiving treatment or consultations at The Edgbaston Hospital will reflect the medicines included within the Local Health Economy formulary. There are ample free parking at the front, side and rear of the hospital.
Leave the M1 at Junction 24 and join the M42 Southbound. At Junction 8 cross to Junction 4A on the M6 Northbound. Then leave the M6 at Junction 6 (sign-posted Birmingham Central). **At the end of the motorway, follow signs to A38 South (one flyover and three underpasses) to come on to a dual carriageway (A38 Bristol Road). Go straight across at the first set of traffic lights. At the second traffic lights, turn right into Priory Road and bear left to the next traffic lights. Turn left into Edgbaston Park Road, continue past the University residences and turn right into Somerset Road. The Hospital is on your left after Farquhar Road.
At Junction 8 (after M5 divides) take the M6 for London and Birmingham Central. Leave the M6 at Junction 6 for Birmingham Central A38 South. (See **). From South or East via M1 and M6 go Northbound to Junction 6, ignoring M42 turns. Leave the M6 at Junction 6 Birmingham Central A38 South. (See **). From South via M40 go Northbound to Junction 3A and join the M42 westbound (signposted M5). Exit M42 at Junction 3. Follow the A435 (signposted to Birmingham) for approximately 10 miles to Kings Heath. At the end of Kings Heath High Street, turn left at the island, into Queensbridge Road. Continue into Russell Road to the island and turn left into Edgbaston road (B4217). Then continue past Warwickshire County Cricket Club ground on the right. Cross two sets of traffic lights (over Pershore Road and Bristol Road) into Priory Road. (See **).
Leave the M5 at Junction 4, Lydiate Ash, onto A38. Follow the signs to Birmingham for approximately 6-7 miles. Pass through Selly Oak, and just after The University of Birmingham turn left (next to Gun Barrels Public House) into Edgbaston Park Road. Take the second turning on the left into Somerset Road. The hospital is on the left after Farquhar Road.
