Personal profile

Mr Devadoss completed his basic medical training (MBBS) in 1980 and post-graduation in General Surgery in 1984 at the Christian Medical College, Vellore, India.

After a period of service in a Christian Mission Hospital in South India and the Sultan’s Armed Forces in Muscat, Oman, he obtained his Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 1989 and continued his Orthopaedic training in the UK from 1991. 

After junior posts in various hospitals, Mr Devadoss was trained in the Yorkshire region as a Registrar and Senior Registrar from 1993 to 1999. He completed a Higher Specialist Fellowship in Orthopaedics FRCSEd (Tr& Orth.) in 1998.

Mr Devadoss started his consultant career at Rochdale Infirmary in April 1999. After doing general orthopaedic and trauma work until 2005, he developed his interest and skills concentrating only on upper limb surgery from 2005. He started upper limb arthroscopic surgery and the first arthroscopic surgery in Rochdale was done from 1999. He has continued to concentrate his clinical work and practice in upper limb surgery, involving all aspects of treatment of problems in the elbow, hand and wrist.

With an experience of 22 years as a Consultant, from 2013 Mr Devadoss has been working exclusively at The Highfield Hospital doing non-trauma upper limb surgery. He does all procedures around the elbow, including tennis elbow release/injections, ulnar nerve decompression and transposition. He also treats issues around the wrist and hand including nerve problems and injections and surgical treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome, release of Dupuytren’s contracture and trigger fingers. 

Mr Devadoss is an examiner for The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the MRCS examinations. He also deals with Medico-legal problems in the upper limb including Clinical Negligence reports for the various upper limb problems. He has medico-legal clinics in Bradford, Rochdale, Manchester, Birmingham and Harley Street in London.
