Dr Srinivasa Rao Elamanchi

Dr Elamanchi has more than 20 years of experience in Rheumatology. Dr Elamanchi graduated from Stanley Medical College in Chennai, India in 1992. After doing 3 years of senior residency in India, he came to UK. After passing PLAB exam in 1995, he obtained extensive General Medical Post Graduate training in various medical specialities.

After passing MRCP UK and MRCP Ireland exams in 1999, he joined Rheumatology Training Programme. In 2006 he was appointed as a Consultant Rheumatologist in City Hospital, SWBH NHS Trust. In 2015 he was appointed as the Clinical Lead for Rheumatology. He is also the Principle Investigator for Research Trials in Seronegative Spondyloarthropathy. He also provides Teaching and Training for Rheumatology Specialist Trainees. 

His special interests include:

• Ankylosing Spondylitis
• Psoriatic Arthritis
• Reactive Arthritis
• Enteropathic Arthritis

He is the Lead for Radio Active Yttrium Synovectomy at SWBH NHS Trust (the only centre in Birmingham providing such a service). He is also the Lead for Metabolic Bone Services (Osteoporosis, Paget’s Disease etc.) at SWBH NHS Trust.

He also treats patients with:

• Rheumatoid Arthritis
• Osteoarthritis
• Gout
• Chronic Pain Syndromes including Fibromyalgia, Vasculitis, Connective Tissues Diseases and Soft Tissue Rheumatic problems.
