Personal Profile

Dr Bowman qualified as a Consultant Rheumatologist in Birmingham in 1996 and since October 2017 he has been holding the post of NHS Consultant Rheumatologist at Milton Keynes University Hospital.

Dr Bowman has a broad base of experience and knowledge in general rheumatology, but has a particular interest in inflammatory conditions (such as rheumatoid arthritis, polymyalgia rheumatica and seronegative arthritis such as psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis), osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and gout. He also has a longstanding clinical and research interest in Sjogren’s syndrome.

Over and above his Consulting work Dr Bowman has previously worked as President of the British Society for Rheumatology and currently he holds the role of Honorary Professor at the University of Birmingham.
