Personal Profile
Prof Shah Nawaz graduated from the University of Aberdeen, gaining his clinical training in the Yorkshire and Humber region.
Prof Nawaz has over 16 years experience as a consultant vascular surgeon, in the full breadth of vascular surgery with a particular interest in carotid disease and endo-venous techniques.
Prof Nawaz has been a consultant for 17 years. He is the Lead for Vascular Services, and is a senior Teacher at the University of Sheffield and Honorary Professor at Sheffield Hallam University
He has published extensively in the role of exercise physiology in Peripheral Vascular Disease and Vascular Configuration and the impact of demographics in Vascular Disease.
Prof Nawaz has held senior educational and management roles within the NHS.
He also works for the GMC as a panel member of the revalidation and Competency Board.
