Sarah-Woodrow- Dermatologist

Personal Profile

Sarah Woodrow is a Consultant Dermatologist with interest in all aspects of dermatology and skin cancer. She was Lead Consultant in the Dermatology unit at the Royal United Hospital (RUH), Bath from 2013 - 2016. She has recently relinquished this role to take up the Lead Skin Cancer Clinician at the RUH in 2017. Prior to that, she was a Dermatology Consultant and Lead Clinician at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Cornwall from 2004 – 11.

Dr Woodrow trained in medicine at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, London and undertook her Dermatology Specialist Training in Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge where she also was awarded a PhD in 2003 for research into Human Papillomaviruses (wart virus).

Dr Woodrow is interested in the diagnosis and management of all aspects of dermatology – common skin and hair complaints including eczema, psoriasis, alopecia and acne, review and monitoring of moles and other pre-cancerous lesions and skin cancers. She also holds specialist ‘vulval dermatology’ clinics at the RUH and is happy to receive private referrals for skin conditions affecting this area.

Dr Woodrow offers skin surgery for benign and malignant skin lesions, cryotherapy of skin lesions (warts and verrucas) and intra-lesional steroid injections for scars and some hair conditions.

Please note - Dr Woodrow does not offer private consultations for infestations of the skin including scabies.

For any patient that has a Lipoma greater than 2cm, this will require surgical input rather than a Dermatologist. Please refer to a Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon for the neck and head, or a General/Plastic Surgeon for all other body areas.
