Personal Profile
She graduated from Nottingham University Medical School in 1998 and has done the majority of her surgical training in South Yorkshire, after undertaking a period of research in the genetics of colorectal cancer at Sheffield University. She has presented her work on a National and International level. She won the National Prize from the Pelvic Floor Society, and won the Travelling Fellows Award from the Royal Society of Medicine.
She became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons on 2012, after passing the final Intercollegiate Examination in General Surgery. She subsequently became the Goligher Colorectal Fellow at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, which consolidated her laparoscopic and specialist colorectal skills.
She is passionate about education, and hold an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturers post at the University of Sheffield. She is the Deputy Training Programme Director for General Surgery for Yorkshire and the Humber, leading the Higher Surgical Training Programme for the whole of Yorkshire. She also have a deep interest in Undergraduate Education and lead the First Year Medical School placement within my NHS Trust. She is also a member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland.
She is married with 2 boys, and have lived in Sheffield for over 20 years.
