Dr Richard Groves is a Consultant Dermatologist with a particular interest in complex medical dermatology. He runs a tertiary clinical and diagnostic service for patients with immunologically mediated skin diseases based at the St. John's Institute of Dermatology, Guy's & St. Thomas' Hospitals and King’s College, London. In addition to clinical work he has an active research programme investigating the causes and new treatments for inflammatory skin diseases.

Dr Groves trained in general medicine at the Royal London Hospital and then in dermatology at Guy's Hospital. Following a research fellowship at Harvard University he came back to the UK, initially to University College and then as Professor of Dermatology at Imperial College London. In 2005 he moved to his current post at the Institute of Dermatology.
