Appointed as an Orthopaedic Consultant in East Kent in 1995, initially based in Canterbury, where he has worked as a general orthopaedic surgeon with an interest in lower limb problems ever since. He is a programme director for the Kent, Surry and Sussex orthopaedic training programme. He has previously been Clinical Director for orthopaedics for the East Kent NHS Trust and remains with an active interest in the management of orthopaedic services and, specifically, the training of junior doctors.
Philip is married with two children and his interests include skiing, sailing and windsurfing. Philip lives in a village close to Canterbury and his private practice is almost exclusively based at the Chaucer Hospital.
