Personal Profile

Mr Ahmed trained in urology at St. George's, Eastbourne, and Nottingham. He was appointed Consultant Urological Surgeon in '99 with special interest in endourology, andrology, prostate problems, bladder, kidney & prostate cancer. He has written and published extensively on teaching and learning, patient empowerment, quality of care and service delivery related issues. He has been an active member of Local Research Ethics Committee for over eight years.

Mr Ahmed introduced the Holmium Laser treatment for stones and Greenlight Laser for prostate, and laparoscopic kidney surgery at Bromley Hospitals. He runs a busy NHS and private practice in fertility service with gynaecologists at Circle Health Group hospitals. He also specialises in the investigation and treatment of andrological problems like complex ED and Peyronie’s disease.

Mr Ahmed has been heavily involved in developing shared and continuum of care pathways with colleagues in general practice. He has given many presentations, including at surgeries, to develop a ‘practice perspective on common urological problems. Urological cancer investigation and treatments form a large part of his NHS and private practice. He is available to deal with all urological emergencies through Circle Health Group hospitals.

Mr Ahmed is also a Senior Lecturer and Undergraduate Sub Dean at Kings' College of Medicine, University of London.
