Mr Elvey is a consultant Orthopaedic surgeon with a specialist interest in the hand, wrist, and upper limb.
Mr Elvey graduated from the Royal Free and University College London Medical School in 2007 with MBBS and a BSc Hons in Medical Law. After completing basic training, he ranked in the top 1% of the national selection process for subspeciality training programmes. He selected a position on the University College London Hospital Orthopaedic programme, rotating through distinguished hospitals including UCLH, the Royal Free and Great Ormond Street. Mr Elvey was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons England (Tr & Orth) in 2016, recognising the completion of Orthopaedic subspeciality training. He subsequently completed specialist Hand and Wrist fellowships at the World-renowned Wrightington Upper limb Unit, and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. In 2018 he undertook a travelling Observership to the Institute De La Main, Paris, France and in 2019 he was awarded the Gold Medal for the highest performance in the British Postgraduate Hand Diploma examination.
Mr Elvey holds an NHS consultant post University College London NHS Foundation Trust where he treats all aspects of Hand and Wrist surgery in both adults and children. He is an active member of the on-call trauma rota treating seriously injured patients in London. He supervises both junior and senior trainees in his role as an educational supervisor and is an International faculty member on many of the most distinguished hand and wrist educational courses. He publishes consistently in peer-reviewed journals, has received numerous research prizes, and presents regularly at National and International scientific meetings. He has contributed to major textbooks, is a reviewer for the top hand and wrist publications and maintains an active interest in medical law.
Mr Elvey’s private practice spans Central, and North London where he treats all elective and emergency hand and wrist concerns. He looks after professional musicians and sports teams and is a recognised expert in the treatment of elite level athletes. His emphasis is on formulating bespoke treatment plans for each individual patient.
His practice includes: Fractures of the hand, wrist and upper limb, sports injuries and rehabilitation, keyhole surgery and minimally invasive techniques, neurological conditions including nerve injury and entrapment, ligament and tendon problems of the hand and wrist, arthritis of the hand and wrist including joint replacement surgery
