Personal Profile
As a podiatrist, Mr Collison is qualified to assess and manage problems of the foot and ankle. He has a strong interest in sporting injury, particularly in endurance athletes such as runners and triathletes and has worked with elite athletes as part of the London Marathon medical team and with ultra-marathon runners and walkers at the Action Challenge ultra-marathon events both in the UK and abroad. He has worked with premiership footballers, elite runners and professional ballet dancers as well as many amateur and recreational athletes.
Mr Collison gained membership of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow by examination in 2018, and was elected as a member of the faculty executive board in 2019 and has since been appointed as the Director of Communications for the Faculty. He is a member of the College of Podiatry and is HCPC registered.
He has taught undergraduate podiatry students at the University of Southampton and has presented on foot problems in rheumatoid arthritis; health behaviour change; footwear; MRI; and ankle-foot orthoses at national conferences. He co-chairs an annual conference on the multidisciplinary management of rheumatic diseases at King’s College London. He has volunteered with the homeless at Crisis at Christmas in London.
