Personal Profile
Mr Martin Porter was an undergraduate scholar at Cambridge (Caius) and a postgraduate at Oxford (Merton). Post graduate training was in General Surgery(London), Neurosurgery (Barts), Head and Neck surgery (Royal Marsden) and ENT(Royal National ENT Hospital).
After taking both the General and ENT Fellowships of the Royal College of Surgeons of England he was a registrar in London then senior registrar in the south west region. He was a lecturer at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and visiting Fellow in Aukland for a year. His MD thesis was in nasal physiology.
He was appointed to Worcester in 1997 when it was a small unit serving Worcester only. He strove to expand it to the well respected and comprehensive unit that now serves the whole county, trains future surgeons and provides a high standard of NHS care.
His interests are French, shooting, skiing and beekeeping. His wife teaches in Worcester and we have three children.
