He undertook his Orthopaedic and Trauma training in Leicester and Lincoln, and has been a full-time Orthopaedic and Trauma Consultant Surgeon at Lincoln County Hospital since 2009. He completed a one year Fellowship in Lower Limb Reconstruction at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, South Australia/Adelaide University in 2006-7. During this period, he gained familiarity with a range of techniques for managing patients with complex hip and knee problems.
Mr Rowsell also carries out knee arthroscopies (keyhole surgery) for various knee problems. He participates in the East Midlands Specialised Orthopaedic Network for revision hip and knee surgery.
His interests outside of work include participating in triathlons, open-water swimming, hill-walking, and he takes an interest in most sports. He was a match day doctor for the Leicester Tigers Rugby Football Club for four years, and still is a keen supporter.
