Personal Profile
Mr Mark Vose trained at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and completed fellowships in corneal transplant surgery (Sydney Eye Hospital) and paediatric ophthalmology (Manchester). His NHS base is Preston Royal Hospital where he leads the fast track cataract pathway and has helped to establish Preston as an eye retrieval centre, one of only ten in the country.
Mr Vose is a Honorary Senior Lecturer in Ophthalmology at The University of Manchester. He is the undergraduate lead for the head and neck directorate promoting excellence in the undergraduate experience of ophthalmology, ENT and maxillofacial surgical specialties improving the undergraduate experience in these disciplines at Preston.
His interest is in infectious diseases of the eye from corneal infections to candida endophthalmitis. Mr Vose is also the pharmacy lead for the ophthalmology department and has recently had an application accepted for the use of osurdex in the treatment of macula oedema related to branch and central retinal vein occlusion.
