Personal Profile

Mr Laurence James is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. In August 2022 he was appointed as the inaugural Clinical Lead for Orthopaedics in Southeast London (Guys & St Thomas’, Kings College, Lewisham & Greenwich Hospitals). He is an Honorary Lecturer in lower limb biomechanics at The Institute of Orthopaedics, University College London and has over 12 years’ experience as team doctor to Saracens RFC.

After qualifying from University College London, he completed his postgraduate training at University College Hospital, London and Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. He then undertook Specialist Fellowship Training in Foot & Ankle Surgery at Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, London and Southmead Hospital, Bristol.

Mr James has numerous publications in peer review journals, has presented at international conferences and written book chapters in major orthopaedic textbooks.
