Mr Guy Dawkins is a Consultant Urologist at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He also runs an active private practice at Chelsfield Park Hospital, Orpington, Kent and The Sloane Hospital, Beckenham.

Based in Bromley since 1999, he delivers general urology with subspecialisation in female functional neurological and reconstructive urology under the umbrella of King's College Hospital. He has developed particular expertise over twenty-five years in urinary reconstruction jointly with gynaecology and colorectal surgeons and urinary continence restoration for both male and female patients.

Mr Dawkins’ wide general urology experience includes benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), bladder cancer, urinary tract infections (UTI), prostate cancer, functional reconstruction, continence restoration, urinary infection, penoscrotal surgery, circumcision and vasectomy procedure including reversal.

He is an expert in medical procedures related to nerve blocks for chronic pain, prolapse repairs, bladder neck injection for incontinence, suprapubic catheters, female and reconstructive urology, bladder instillation, prostate biopsy, hydrocelectomy, orchidectomy, orchiopexy for undescended testicle (UDT), prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test, transurethral resection of a bladder tumour (TURBT) and prostate cancer diagnostics and prostatectomy (TURP).

Mr Dawkins qualified with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 1984. He trained through the Middlesex Hospital/UCLH and Institute of Urology on the North Thames rotation with extensive experience in civilian as well as military hospitals covering all aspects of urology including trauma and post-trauma stress disorders.

This involved a Fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons. He wrote his thesis on "Why non-surgical treatments for BPH ultimately fail". He holds professional memberships in European Society for Medical Oncology and The British Association for Urological Surgeons.

Mr Dawkins has a background in physiology and mechanical engineering which helped him hone his passion for validated innovation in surgical practice. He is an active surgical trainer and lecturer plus providing mentoring and communication skills workshops.
