Personal Profile

Mr Natali developed a keen interest in spinal disorders when working as a registrar, and went to Brisbane to be a spinal fellow for one year. Here, Mr Natli learned the craft that is spinal surgery and learnt how to operate and probably the most important skill - when it is not suitable to operate. Patient selection is the skill that is a pre-requisite for a good spinal surgeon. While in Brisbane Mr Natali helped run the Belmont Rehabilitation Clinic, and learnt about multidisciplinary and active rehabilitation.

Upon his return to the UK, Mr Natali took up the post of a Consultant at St Bartholomew’s the Royal London Hospital dealing with degenerative conditions of the spine, disc prolapses, spinal tumours, infections and trauma (from the Helicopter Emergency Service).

In 2001, Mr Natali founded a private rehabilitation clinic in Tower Hill (called “back2normal”) that deals with neck and back pain.

As well as the common conditions affecting the spine such as, back and neck pain, prolapsed intervertebral discs, spinal instability, and degeneration, Mr Natali has special interests in TB spine with a current active treatment population of 200+ cases of spinal TB. In addition, Mr Natali is part of a global development team in Minimal Access Surgery for spinal fusion including Extreme Lateral Interbody Fusion.
