Professional profile

I am Fellowship trained Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon and hold the British Diploma in Hand surgery. As a Consultant at the Royal Berkshire NHS Trust, I manage patients with Hand conditions such as arthritis (base of thumb, wrist, hand small joint), tendon conditions (trigger finger and thumb and De Quervains), nerve compression neuropathies (carpal and cubital tunnel), Dupuytren’s disease and manage hand trauma.

I trained to be a doctor at Bristol Medical school and completed my Orthopaedic training in London followed by fellowships in Australia (Brisbane and Sydney) and London (Chelsea and Westminster). I am involved in teaching the next generation of Orthopaedic doctors, both as an NHS Consultant and also invited to teach in various faculties. I am enthusiastic about research and have a research-based MSc and am involved in current clinical research.

Personal profile

When not working, I am a keen allotmenteer and gardener, enjoying walking and am a member of Carey Baptist Church.

Research interests

I am enthusiastic about the benefits of clinical research for my patients – it helps answer questions we don’t know the answer to yet and for patients provides higher quality care. I am involved as a Principle Investigator in National research studies in my Consultant job at the Royal Berkshire hospital.

I have a research-based MSc and have worked on enhancing cell attachment to titanium alloy, wrist biomechanics and clinical outcome studies, which have been published in International journals.
