Dr Gautam Kulkarni is passionate about paediatrics and is happy to see children for a specialist opinion from birth up to 16 years of age. His specialist clinics are in allergy and neurology. Dr Kulkarni is more than happy to accept general paediatric referrals such as constipation, growth, asthma etc where your GP would prefer a specialist opinion. He has an interest in managing pain such as headaches and tummy aches in children. Dr Kulkarni has an interest in healthcare innovation and patient safety. He has helped in the development of “Isabel healthcare”; a decision support system to reduce diagnostic error. He is an Innovation fellow from the NHS Institute of Innovation and Improvement. Dr Kulkarni’s postgraduate training was at St Mary’s Hospital and St Thomas’ Hospital, London. Currently Dr Kulkarni is a Consultant at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup and Darent valley Hospital, Dartford. Dr Kulkarni is the lead for children with epilepsy and runs a dedicated clinic for children with fits and seizures, especially where there is diagnostic uncertainty.
He has an interest in patient safety and is a Fellow of the NHS Institute of Innovation and Improvement. He aided the development of www.isabelhealthcare.com, a web based clinical decision support system to reduce clinical risk and improve patient safety.
